Religion and the UFO Phenomenon

It is often said that the discovery of alien life, would call into question humanities fascination with God. Would the discovery of extraterrestrial life really cause wide spread abandonment of worldly religion?

Monsignor Corrado Balducci of the Vatican said, "I believe UFO's are real, and they are controlled by alien beings. But if We look at the big picture. For all we know, God created these creatures as well, and we would just have to realize how big his creation really is."

Did God create the human race? Did he create other alien races? Well who knows for sure, but the Bible itself if full of UFO stories if you let yourself believe. Ancient drawings and scriptures continually depict UFO's, or flying craft of some configuration, as well as alien, or bizarre beings.

It is entirely possible that the aliens gave us God. That upon discovering us thousands of years ago, they gave us a set of standards on which to base our unstructured society, a set of "commandments" that they themselves have followed and mastered. Many passages in the Bible speak of strange objects flying in the sky. They were often called chariots in the sky, or pillars of clouds. Basically because that is all they knew. They never saw any from of transport fly, so they assigned names to them with which they could identify. They knew chariots, and a "chariot of fire in the clouds" can be construed as nothing but a UFO. Ancient cave drawings have even depicted spacecraft, and alien looking life forms in many cultures.

Why is it so hard for people to believe that UFO's are real? But so easy to believe that someone parted the red sea? Or God created Eve from Adam's rib, after Adam didn't take to Lilith?

I don't know the answer to that one, but I do know that there is more hard evidence to support the UFO phenomenon, than the Jesus phenomenon. Religions are discriminatory, and hypocritical, and that is not a statement designed to bash them, it is simply a fact. God does not discriminate, but Religions do.

UFO's are seen by all types of people, not crazy people, but normal everyday Doctors, Policemen, Lawyers, Accountants, Athletes, Musicians, Teachers, and yes even Priests, Reverends and Rabbi's. We need to take a long hard look at our Gods, and ask the question that few have the ability to ask. Is God himself an Alien? Did an Alien race lay down the basis for our worldly religions? Can this explain the soul as a biological entity? Do we pass on, not to Heaven as we think we know it? But into another, "alien" world? These are very intriguing questions to say the least.

Right from the Bible:

The Bible has many strange passages, things that are so easily converted into close encounter experiences. Several of them even mention abductions. The handing down of the 10 commandments themselves could easily be construed as a UFO experience. "Moses returned with his skin aglow and his hair whitened" A typical reaction to low level doses of radiation. Read these with an open mind, and you too will see that there are many strange things about the Bible itself. They talk about flying scrolls, and silver pillars of clouds, and fire balls in the sky. People being sucked up into these solid clouds and taken for rides. God speaking to them from said clouds, many odd happenings in general. What were these people seeing? Were they all hallucinating like modern UFO witnesses? Of course there is some flexibility for poetic licensing, and the exact translation factors in as to precise meaning. But still there is that gray area that is not explained by anything but a very strange encounter with a "being" a "God" or a "flying object" of some configuration. They talk often of "fire", which it thought to be bright lights being shone on the ground from above. Thus the "burning bush". And the "men who walk in the fire" but "do not burn". Of course you be the ultimate judge and remember that the vocabulary that these people had limited their descriptive terms. Having never seen a plane, it is easy to see how a "cloud born chariot" or a "silver pillar of clouds" or even a "chariot of fire", would be used to describe a UFO.

Genisis 6:4: There were giants in the earth in those days ; and also after that , when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
1 Kings 18:44: And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man's hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare [thy chariot], and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not.
2 Kings 2:11: And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, [there appeared] a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
1 Ch 28:18: And for the altar of incense refined gold by weight; and gold for the pattern of the chariot of the cherubim's, that spread out [their wings], and covered the ark of the covenant of the LORD.
Ac 8:29: Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.
Ex 3:2: There the angel of the Lord appeared to him as a flame coming from the middle of a bush. Moses saw that the bush was on fire but that it was not burning up.
Ex 14:19: The angel of God, who had been in front of the army of Israel, moved and went to the rear. The pillar of cloud also moved until it was behind them.
2 Kings 19:35: That night an angel of the Lord went to the Assyrian camp and killed 185,000 soldiers. At dawn the next day there they lay, all dead!
Da 3:25: "Then why do I see four men walking around in the fire?" he asked. "They are not tied up, and they show no sign of being hurt—and the fourth one looks like an angel."
Da 10:16: Then the angel, who looked like a human being, reached out and touched my lips. I said to him, "Sir, this vision makes me so weak that I can't stop trembling.
Zec 5:2: The angel asked me what I saw. I answered, "A scroll flying through the air; it is thirty feet long and fifteen feet wide."
Zec 5:7: Here is a led disk lifted up, and this is a women sitting inside the basket.
Ac 7:30: "After forty years had passed, an angel appeared to Moses in the flames of a burning bush in the desert near Mount Sinai.
Eze 1:15-16: Now as I beheld the living creatures, behold one wheel upon the earth by the living creatures, with his four faces. The appearance of the wheels and their work [was] like unto the colour of a beryl: and they four had one likeness: and their appearance and their work [was] as it were a wheel in the middle of a wheel.
Eze 10:10-19: And when I looked, behold the four wheels by the cherubim's, one wheel by one cherub, and another wheel by another cherub: and the appearance of the wheels [was] as the colour of a beryl stone. And [as for] their appearances, they four had one likeness, as if a wheel had been in the midst of a wheel.
Ex 13:21-22: During the day the Lord went in front of them in a pillar of cloud to show them the way, and during the night he went in front of them in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel night and day. The pillar of cloud was always in front of the people during the day, and the pillar of fire at night.
Ex 14:24: Just before dawn the Lord looked down from the pillar of fire and cloud at the Egyptian army and threw them into a panic.
Ex 33:9-10: After Moses had gone in, the pillar of cloud would come down and stay at the door of the Tent, and the Lord would speak to Moses from the cloud. As soon as the people saw the pillar of cloud at the door of the Tent, they would bow down.
Ex 40:34: Then the cloud covered the Tent and the dazzling light of the Lord's presence filled it.
Nu 12:5: and the Lord came down in a pillar of cloud, stood at the entrance of the Tent, and called out, "Aaron! Miriam!" The two of them stepped forward,
Nu 14:14: they will tell it to the people who live in this land. These people have already heard that you, Lord, are with us, that you appear in plain sight when your cloud stops over us, and that you go before us in a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night.
Nu 16:42: After they had all gathered to protest to Moses and Aaron, they turned toward the Tent and saw that the cloud was covering it and that the dazzling light of the Lord's presence had appeared.
De 1:33: even though he always went ahead of you to find a place for you to camp. To show you the way, he went in front of you in a pillar of fire by night and in a pillar of cloud by day.
Ne 9:12: With a cloud you led them in daytime, and at night you lighted their way with fire.
Ne 9:19: But you did not abandon them there in the desert, for your mercy is great. You did not take away the cloud or the fire that showed them the path by day and night.
Ps 99:7: He spoke to them from the pillar of cloud; they obeyed the laws and commands that he gave them.
Isa 4:5: Then over Mount Zion and over all who are gathered there, the Lord will send a cloud in the daytime and smoke and a bright flame at night. God's glory will cover and protect the whole city.
Isa 19:1: This is a message about Egypt. The Lord is coming to Egypt, riding swiftly on a cloud. The Egyptian idols tremble before him, and the people of Egypt lose their courage.
Hab 3:8: Was it the rivers that made you angry, Lord? Was it the sea that made you furious? You rode upon the clouds; the storm cloud was your chariot, as you brought victory to your people.
Mt 17:5: While he was talking, a shining cloud came over them, and a voice from the cloud said, "This is my own dear Son, with whom I am pleased—listen to him!"
Lu 21:27: Then the Son of Man will appear, coming in a cloud with great power and glory.
Re 11:12: Then the two prophets heard a loud voice say to them from heaven, "Come up here!" As their enemies watched, they went up into heaven in a cloud.
